According to a video shared on the official Arise News YouTube channel on Monday, May 18, 2026, the Legal Team Lead of the Obidient Movement, Vincent Otakpupu, recounted an emotional experience he recently had in church while discussing the widespread support for former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Speaking during an interview on the future of the opposition and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, Otakpupu stated that Obi’s popularity continues to cut across all age groups and social classes. He noted that many Nigerians still see Obi as a symbol of hope, accountability, and responsible leadership despite the nation’s ongoing political and economic difficulties.
Highlighting the level of admiration Obi continues to enjoy, Otakpupu shared a touching moment from a recent church service.
He said, “I was in church when a little 8-year-old child tapped me and said, ‘Tell Peter Obi not to worry, because God is with him.’”
