We Joined Obi To His Village In Agulu To Register, Less Than 1Week,Case Filed By Bala Resurrected- Ogene

Hon. Afam Ogene, an ally of Peter Obi has linked the renewed legal crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to events that followed Obi’s registration in the party before his eventual defection to the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

Ogene, who represents the Ogbaru Federal Constituency of Anambra State and is also a recent defector to the NDC, made the remarks during an interview on SYMFONI TV while explaining the circumstances that led Obi and some of his supporters to leave the ADC-backed coalition.

According to the lawmaker, Obi had formally joined the ADC during a visit to his hometown of Agulu alongside supporters and political associates. He said the legal dispute that later engulfed the party resurfaced shortly afterward.

“Saturday 7th, we joined Mr Peter Obi to his village in Agulu to get registered. As soon as Mr Peter Obi registered on that day, I registered in my village on that day. Less than one week from that date, the case filed by Nafiu Bala on September 12th 2025 was suddenly resurrected and given accelerated hearing,” Ogene said.

He argued that the sudden revival of the court case created uncertainty within the ADC and contributed to concerns among Obi’s supporters about the stability of the platform ahead of future political contests….See More
