Hon. Chidi Ofoegbu, the 2025 PPC governorship candidate for Imo State, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his long-term strategy and leadership style, describing him as a man who deliberately builds and empowers people around him.
Speaking in an interview with Signature TV, Ofoegbu said he lived in Lagos during Tinubu’s tenure as governor and witnessed firsthand how the former Lagos governor positioned people strategically in anticipation of his future ambitions.
He noted that Tinubu’s loyalty to his associates and commitment to their growth is rare among political leaders, especially in the Southeast. According to him, the current Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, once served as Tinubu’s orderly when he was governor.
In his words: “Look at that man called Jagaban. I was in Lagos when he (Tinubu) was governor. And when he was governor, he was busy building people. He knew he would be president. He was busy building people, putting them in strategic places. Do you know that the present IG now was his orderly when he was governor? He groomed him. How many governors in the Southeast can you call now and say, ‘Former governors, where is your ADC? Do they still have a relationship?’ But Tinubu kept this man, grooming him, waiting for the time he would be president to make him IG.” See, More, Here>>>>
