Human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, has reacted to comments made by former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, regarding political alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sowore made the remarks in a post shared on his X handle on Tuesday while responding to Kwankwaso’s interview on Arise News PrimeTime on Monday.
During the interview, Kwankwaso explained that his decision to leave the African Democratic Congress was due to unresolved internal problems within the party and not because of disagreements with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The former governor also disclosed that during the 2023 elections, one of his daughters advised him to work with former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Reacting to the statement, Sowore mocked Kwankwaso, suggesting that his daughter appeared to have better political judgment.
“Mr. Kwankwaso, if your ‘daughter’ now has to tell you who to work for in 2027, then perhaps she, who obviously knows better than you, according to your own postulation, should be the one running for President,” Sowore wrote.
He further accused the former governor of losing political relevance.
“Clearly, you have become politically atrophied. Liars shall not make heaven!” he added.
Kwankwaso had earlier stated that younger Nigerians, especially those active on social media, think differently from older political leaders.
“People of my age and Atiku’s age are very few on social media channels mostly dominated by younger people. The younger people have their own way of thinking,” he said during the interview.
The exchange is the latest in a series of political reactions trailing ongoing coalition talks, defections, and realignments among opposition figures ahead of the 2027 presidential election…See More
