Mary Onoja, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, has stated that she suffered serious medical complications after giving birth to her son through a Caesarean section
In an interview with Brekete Family, a human rights programme, Onoja stated that she underwent five surgeries and spent about three months at the hospital receiving treatment. She said her husband and his family abandoned her during the period.
Onoja said her husband and his family stated that she would die in the hospital because a male doctor had seen her nakedness. She added that she begged the doctor to save her life and promised to repay the bills herself
