Dr Roy Okhidievbie, a former military officer, has stated that the president has the power to take immediate and decisive action on security matters.
In an interview with Silverbird TV, Okhidievbie said the government has already used such power in the past to deal with figures like Nnamdi Kanu, Asari Dokubo, militants in the Southeast and even political figures like Nasir El-Rufai. He questioned why the same approach is not being used against bandit leaders like Kachalla
According to Okhidievbie, “Even the ex-governor of Kaduna State is he not quiet now? They dealt with him. Why can’t you deal with a bandit like Kachalla, a small boy. In my time we would go into that bush, nobody will even send us, we will go and bring those boys out and deal with them mercilessly”
Dr Okhidievbie stated that during his time in the military, soldiers would not wait for instructions but would enter the forests, track the bandits, and deal with them….See More
