IDF Demolishes Home Of Palestinian Involved In Tel Aviv Attack That Killed Seven

According to a report by The Times of Israel, Israeli forces have reportedly demolished the home of a Palestinian man involved in a deadly terror attack in Tel Aviv last year, according to Palestinian media reports.

Videos circulating online showed a series of controlled explosions at a second-story apartment in Hebron, identified by Palestinian media as belonging to Ahmad Himouni. The explosions appeared to completely destroy the residence.

According to Israeli authorities, Himouni and another assailant, Mohammed Mesek, carried out a deadly terror attack in Jaffa on October 1, 2024. The pair killed seven Israeli and foreign civilians and wounded 15 others during the assault, which occurred as residents sought shelter amid warnings of an imminent Iranian ballistic missile attack.

During the attack, municipal security officers and armed civilians responded to the scene, opening fire on the assailants. Mesek was killed instantly, while Himouni was critically injured and later taken into Israeli custody.

A demolition order for Himouni’s home was signed in July by Central Command head Major General Avi Bluth. The order followed Israel’s long-standing policy of demolishing or sealing off the homes of Palestinians involved in terror attacks, a practice it describes as a deterrent against future violence.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has not yet issued an official comment regarding the reported demolition. However, the army frequently carries out such operations in the West Bank following deadly attacks against Israeli civilians or security personnel.

The October 2024 attack at the Ehrlich station of the Tel Aviv Light Rail in Jaffa was one of the deadliest incidents that year. It came at a time of heightened tensions across Israel, with multiple cities placed on alert as hostilities between Israel and Iran-backed groups intensified.

The latest demolition in Hebron follows similar actions taken in recent months across the West Bank, where the IDF has destroyed several homes belonging to attackers involved in fatal shootings or bombings.

Israel maintains that such demolitions serve as an essential deterrent against terror, while Palestinian officials and human rights organizations have repeatedly condemned the practice as a form of collective punishment.

There has been no immediate reaction from Palestinian authorities regarding the destruction of Himouni’s home. See, More, Here>>>>
