Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission recently reacted after copies of the affidavit filed by INEC in the case involving the leadership of the African Democratic Congress ADC, surfaced online. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the affidavit deserved special attention.
Many were left stunned after the leadership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC led by Senator David Mark was de-recognized by the he Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The electoral umpire, acted upon a judgement delivered by Justice Uchechukwu Onyemenam of the appeal court, Abuja. However, the move by the electoral umpire triggered massive public reactions as many believed the move was politically influenced.
In a recent development, copies of the affidavit which was filed by INEC in the case which had stirred massive controversies surfaced online, drawing fresh rounds of heated arguments.
Reacting, Chidi Odinkalu, a respected human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission made the copies of the affidavit available on his official X handle, accompanied by a striking comment.
According to his statements, he pointed out that the copies of the affidavit deserved special attention as it exposed the lapses inherent in INEC.
