FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has openly denied reports that he endorsed Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s second term bid during a meeting with his political associates in Abuja, saying his only stated commitment is to President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking in a media coverage by Channels TV, Wike said, “The only commitment that I have made is to support Tinubu. I have not spoken about anybody else. If you know that I have not spoken to you and you have not talked to me, don’t say it again that I have endorsed your second term,” he said.
Wike made it clear that when he is ready to declare his support for any candidate, there would be no ambiguity about it. He identified that his associates knew him well enough to know that his word would be unmistakable and public.
He warned Fubara and his political camp not to misread his body language or silence as an implicit endorsement, saying a decision had not yet been made and that he was watching the situation carefully before committing to any position……See More
