Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted strongly to reports that Germany rejected his proposed appointment as Nigeria’s ambassador.
The reports claimed that the German government declined the nomination due to concerns about his past public statements, which were described as divisive along ethnic and religious lines. The decision was also said to be linked to his controversial reputation and recent incidents involving foreign officials.
Responding to the development via X, Fani-Kayode dismissed the reports and suggested that political opponents were behind the situation. He argued that certain opposition figures were unhappy with his appointment and were working hard to damage his image and prevent him from taking up the role.
He maintained that he remains committed to serving Nigeria, regardless of the criticism or alleged setbacks. His reaction reflects a defiant stance, as he insists that external pressure or negative publicity will not stop his ambition to represent the country internationally.
In his words, “Fake news everywhere. These opposition elements are so pained by my appointment and they are doing everything to discredit me and scuttle it. Whether they like it or not I will serve my country! Keep crying!….See More
