According to a report by Punch News, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026,Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has assured six newly elected Area Council chairmen of cooperation from the Federal Capital Territory Administration, stating that political differences will not hinder development in the territory.
He gave the assurance on Wednesday in Abuja when the council leaders visited his office to collect their certificates of return ahead of their swearing-in scheduled for June.
Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, congratulated the newly elected chairmen and acknowledged the effort that led to their emergence at the polls.
He told the leaders that their election was the result of hard work and dedication, and noted that the administration was ready to work with them in the interest of residents across the area councils in the Federal Capital Territory.
