If You Fight A War, Win The War; Bring People Together Unless You No Longer Want The Party—Ohuabunwa

According to a report by Channels TV, Dr. Sam Ohuabunwa, a prominent elder statesman and former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has issued a sobering call for unity, warning that the party’s inability to produce “listened-to” leadership is threatening its very existence.

Speaking on the deep-seated divisions that have fractured the main opposition party, Ohuabunwa emphasized that the time for internal warfare has passed and the era of “realistic” reconciliation must begin.

Ohuabunwa did not mince words regarding the current state of the PDP hierarchy. He suggested that the party is currently suffering from a vacuum of authoritative figures capable of bringing warring factions to the table.

“Unfortunately this is where leadership is called for and I’m afraid we haven’t been able to produce that kind of leadership that people are going to listen to,” Ohuabunwa lamented.

As various power blocs within the party continue to clash over convention results and legal disputes, Ohuabunwa argued that continued conflict is a zero-sum game.

He maintained that even the most successful “political war” requires a peaceful aftermath if the institution is to survive.

“What should work nicely reconciliation that is for me is the most practicable and realistic thing to do because even if you fight a war when you win the war you need to bring people together unless you no longer want a party,” he said.

With the 2027 general elections appearing on the horizon, the former aspirant warned that the PDP has exhausted its capacity for internal strife.

He urged party members to agree on a path forward before the damage becomes irreversible.
