Umahi: I Was Preparing To Pray When He Knocked On My Door and Came In To Find Out We’ve Eaten-Ohiri

Businesswoman and media entrepreneur, Tracy Ohiri, has alleged that Nigeria’s Minister of Works and former Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi, is indebted to her to the tune of over N300 million for campaign materials she supplied during his 2014 governorship bid in Ebonyi State.

Ohiri made the allegation during an interview on the online programme KAA Truths, where she recounted her past interactions with the former governor and the circumstances surrounding the disputed payment.

Speaking during the interview, Ohiri narrated an incident from the period she said she was involved in supporting Umahi’s campaign, describing how the former governor once visited her room late at night while she was preparing for prayers.

“As an MFM member, I’m used to praying at night. I was preparing to pray when he knocked on my door and came in. When he came in,” she said.

She explained that she initially did not consider the visit unusual, given the circumstances at the time.

“So it’s okay by me as someone hosting us, you have the right to come and check up on us if we are okay and also to find out if we have eaten. And that’s exactly what he did when he came in,” Ohiri added.

Ohiri has been publicly demanding payment for what she described as campaign materials and services she allegedly supplied during Umahi’s governorship campaign ahead of the 2015 election.

The controversy between the two has drawn attention in recent weeks, especially on social media, with supporters of both sides debating the claims and counterclaims…..See More
