The Cubana’s Are Aware Even if Peter Obi Becomes ADC Candidate, He Won’t Win 2027 Election- Ossai

Ovie Success Ossai, the Special Adviser on Media to the Delta State Governor, has defended the decision of prominent South-East business figures Obinna Iyiegbu (also known as Obi Cubana) and Pascal Okechukwu (popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest) to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a post on his Facebook page on Friday, February 13, 2026, Ossai asserted that Obi Cubuna and Cuban Chief Priest made a strategic choice by shifting their support toward the current administration, suggesting that their move is rooted in a realistic assessment of the political atmosphere.

According to Ossai, these businessmen are fully aware that even if Peter Obi were to emerge as the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), he would be unlikely to secure a victory in 2027.

He emphasized that rather than remaining with a camp that lacks a path to the presidency, it is more beneficial for influential stakeholders to join the winning team to foster national progress.

Ossai expressed his disappointment with those criticizing the businessmen for their political realignment, urging respect for their democratic choices.

He wrote, “The Cubana’s made the right choice by Supporting President Tinubu against Peter Obi. They are aware even if Peter Obi becomes the ADC presidential candidate, he won’t win the 2027 election. I am disappointed in those castigating them over their choices.”

This political shift has been formalized through key appointments within the City Boy Movement, a prominent pro-Tinubu support group.

Obi Cubana has officially assumed the role of South-East Coordinator for the movement after receiving his appointment letter from Seyi Tinubu.

Simultaneously, celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest, has been named the Imo State Director of the organization.

Both figures have defended their new roles as essential for ensuring the South-East region remains integrated into the federal government’s developmental agenda and decision-making processes.
