Either We Will Make A Deal Or We Will Have To Do Something Very Tough Like Last June -Trump

According to the Anadolu Agency, US President Donald Trump said Tuesday he is considering sending a second aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East, increasing pressure on Iran as diplomatic talks continue.

“We have an armada that is heading there and another one might be going,” Trump told Axios, confirming that he is “thinking” about an additional deployment. A US official said discussions are underway about sending another strike group to join the USS Abraham Lincoln, which is already stationed in the region.

Trump made clear that the choice for Tehran is simple: “Either we will make a deal or we will have to do something very tough like last time,” referring to US airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites last June.

The president said he expects a second round of negotiations with Iranian officials next week, adding that Tehran now seems to be taking the talks more seriously. “Last time they didn’t believe I would do it,” Trump said, claiming that Iran had previously “overplayed their hand.”

Trump expressed optimism about reaching an agreement, calling a deal on Iran’s nuclear program a “no-brainer.” He also suggested it could include limits on Tehran’s ballistic missile program. “We can make a great deal with Iran,” he said.

Ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s White House visit on Wednesday, Trump dismissed concerns about tensions between the two countries. “He also wants a deal. He wants a good deal,” Trump said.

Tensions have risen between Washington and Tehran in recent months, fueled by a US military buildup in the Persian Gulf and repeated threats from Trump. The next round of nuclear negotiations in Oman comes after an eight-month pause, with both sides under global scrutiny.
