In a video shared by Symfoni TV, former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has weighed in on the ongoing political tensions in Rivers State, offering strong words of support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara while calling for deep reflection within the Ijaw nation.
Dokubo praised Governor Fubara for what he described as steady leadership during a turbulent period marked by political crises and internal divisions.
According to him, the Rivers State governor has played a critical role in maintaining unity and stability for the Ijaw people despite mounting challenges.
He stated, “This young man [Siminalayi Fubara] has kept the Ijaw Nation afloat in these most difficult times. He has kept us afloat in all the crises that have taken place. Today, we are confronted by our ghost, the ghost of our in attitude.”
Dokubo suggested that the current difficulties facing the Ijaw nation are not solely caused by external forces, but also by internal failures and a lack of collective responsibility.
He urged stakeholders and supporters to look inward and reassess their actions, warning that disunity could weaken the political strength the group has built over the years.
