CP Moshood Jimoh, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, has stated that during the January 28 anti-demolition protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly, his police officers were harassed by protesters
In an interview with Channels Television, CP Jimoh said he was personally insulted by one of the leaders of the protest, Taiwo Hassan, who accused him of being a murderer and used offensive words against him. He stated that Hassan also insulted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Alausa, which covers the House of Assembly area, by calling her barren.
In CP Jimoh’s words: “Even from the protest ground down to the place we were humiliated, we were abused. I personally was abused by Taiwo Hassan of being a murderer, of vomiting blood and having blood in my mouth. He abused the DPO Alausa, which jurisdiction is the House of Assembly, of being a barren. He was saying that, ‘This woman is a barren”
