Former Kaduna State governor and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nasir El-Rufai, has sounded a strong wake-up call to Nigerians, warning that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may attempt to rule the country for life if citizens fail to unite and resist his administration.
In a video interview posted by Symfoni TV, El-Rufai appeared alongside his political ally, Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Speaking with passion, he urged Nigerians to rise above political, ethnic, and religious divisions and come together in a collective effort to safeguard the future of democracy in the country.
According to him, Tinubu’s long-standing claims of fighting for democracy and true federalism were nothing but deception. El-Rufai accused the current administration of centralizing power at the federal level rather than devolving it to the states and local governments.
In his statement “All those years of him saying we are for democracy, it was all fake,” El-Rufai said. “The claims that we were fighting for true federalism were lies. What we are seeing today is a government that wants to centralize everything. The sum total is that we are now facing an evil of such large proportion in the history of this country. If we do not come together and put an end to this administration in 2027, Tinubu will try to stay in power permanently. He will be president for life.”
His comments have sparked mixed reactions, with many Nigerians debating the seriousness of his warning and the future of the country.Continue, Full, Reading>>>>
