In a recent video on Facebook, Primate Elijah Ayodele has issued a fresh warning about Nigeria’s political and economic environment, predicting a period of instability, heightened scrutiny of key national institutions, and rising tensions during future political campaigns.
In his statement, Ayodele suggested that the country could enter a phase marked by uncertainty within its political system, alongside challenges affecting critical state-owned enterprises.
“Nigeria will experience a period of political confusion and instability,” he said, describing what he views as potential turbulence in governance and national decision-making.
He also drew attention to the oil sector, warning that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited may face significant financial pressure and accountability concerns in the period ahead.
“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company will face serious financial challenges,” Ayodele stated, adding that its leadership could come under increased public and institutional scrutiny. “Its leadership will come under intense scrutiny, raising questions about management and accountability.”
The cleric further extended his warning into the political campaign environment, suggesting that electoral activities in some regions may be affected by restrictions and tensions.
“During political campaigns, there will be regions within Nigeria where candidates will not be allowed to campaign freely,” he said, pointing to possible disruptions in political outreach and participation.
He also highlighted the role of identity-based divisions in shaping the political landscape, warning that such factors could influence both campaign dynamics and eventual electoral outcomes.
