You Invited A Minister To Your TV To Speak On Issues, And You’re Telling Him To Keep Quiet?-Olayinka

A social media post by Lere Olayinka, an aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has sparked reactions after he criticized TV presenter Rufai Oseni over his heated exchange with the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi.

The incident happened during a live interview where Rufai Oseni questioned Minister Umahi about some ongoing federal road projects. However, the conversation turned tense when the minister felt that Rufai’s tone and choice of words were disrespectful. The minister raised his voice in defense, and Rufai responded in a similar manner, leading to an uncomfortable moment on air.

Reacting to the video clip, Lere Olayinka took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to condemn Rufai’s behavior. He expressed disbelief that a journalist would invite a serving minister to a television program and then ask him to “keep quiet.” According to Olayinka, such an attitude shows a lack of respect for public officials and the principles of professional journalism.

In his words, “You invited a Minister to your TV station to speak on issues, and you are telling him to Keep Quiet? Only animal something something can do such.”
