In a recent video shared on Facebook on Monday, February 16, 2026, Niger Delta activist and Kalabari chieftain, Asari Dokubo, responded strongly to attacks and vandalism carried out by supporters of the Indigenous People of Biafra in parts of Rivers State following a violent incident in Port Harcourt.

According to Dokubo, “You cannot threaten us, destroy our properties, and go scot-free,” as he condemned the violence targeting residents, businesses, and places of worship. He insisted that such actions would not be tolerated.

Dokubo stated that Rivers State residents will not allow their communities to be used as a platform for external conflicts. According to him, criminal acts, whether motivated by ethnic, political, or religious reasons, must be addressed through law enforcement and not through vigilante actions.

He further emphasized that the destruction of property and threats to life undermine peace and stability in the state. According to Dokubo, maintaining order is the responsibility of both citizens and security agencies, and no group has the right to bypass the law.

The activist also warned that attempts to provoke Rivers residents into retaliatory violence would be firmly resisted. According to him, those carrying out attacks should be prepared to face legal consequences for their actions.

Dokubo concluded by urging calm and restraint, stressing that justice must be served through due process. He reinforced that Rivers State will not be turned into a battlefield and that the safety and property of its residents are non-negotiable…. Discover More
