Wike: It’s Either You’re In Opposition Or You’re Working For Govt In Power; You Can’t Be Both -Dickson

Speaking during an interview on AIT, Seriake Dickson, founder of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has shared his views on political alignment and the role of opposition in a democratic system, referencing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Dickson spoke on the importance of clarity in political positioning, noting that public officials and political actors are often expected to maintain consistency in their affiliations and responsibilities.

According to him, “So, the moment I saw that tendency was gaining ground, it was time for me to leave because, for me, it’s either you are in opposition or you are working for the government in power, and that is legitimate. But you see, you can’t be both. You must be this or that.”

He explained that his position reflects a broader principle within democratic systems, where individuals typically align either with the ruling government or with the opposition.
