Public Affairs Analyst, Wale Fatade has said that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is currently too preoccupied with political challenges in Rivers State to devote much attention to media engagements.
Fatade made the remark during an interview on Channels Television while reacting to Wike’s recent media chat. According to him, the former Rivers governor is facing intense pressure from his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, which should be his primary concern at the moment.
“I think he got bigger fish to fry now. Fubara is on his neck in Rivers. I think that should consume him more than media chat now,” Fatade said.
He explained that the ongoing political tensions in Rivers State have created a situation that demands Wike’s full attention, leaving him with little or no time for extended interactions with journalists. Fatade noted that the struggle for control and influence in the state has intensified, making the Rivers situation more pressing than public discussions in the media.
The analyst stressed that the political developments in Rivers State remain fluid and sensitive, requiring strategic focus rather than public commentary. According to him, the challenges arising from the standoff between Wike and Fubara are significant enough to overshadow media engagements at this time.
