Why I Didn’t Join David Mark, Rotimi Amaechi, Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar To Protest – Sowore

Despite the attendance of numerous well-known politicians, Omoyele Sowore has provided an explanation for why he did not attend a recent protest that was planned by members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Shortly after the incident, the activist and former presidential candidate spoke to reporters, explaining that he did not attend the demonstration because he was not invited, rather than because he was uninterested in the concerns that were being brought up. Sowore asserts that political alliances and initiatives should be founded on well-defined ideals rather than just political expediency.

According to reports, notable Nigerian political figures such as David Mark, Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Atiku Abubakar participated in the protest along with other party members and supporters. Their presence at the protest attracted public and media attention, raising questions about why Sowore, who is well known for his activism and regular involvement in demonstrations, wasn’t among them.

In reaction to the rumor, Sowore stated unequivocally that he had neither been contacted nor asked to take part in the protest. “I wasn’t going to join the protest, because I wasn’t invited to join them,” he told the media. He stressed that his absence should not be seen as disinterest in the nation’s political landscape.

He asserts that his activism is based on principles rather than simply political rivalry. “I am not opposed for the sake of opposition,” he stated, emphasizing that his stance on national concerns is based on unwavering beliefs and a consistent ideological position.

He ended by stating that his approach to activism and government is different from that of some politicians who only take opposing stances when it benefits their political agenda. “My opposition is founded on principle, theirs on expediency,” he observed, suggesting that his political views differ from what he sees as opportunistic politics….See More
