Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has shed more light on his administration’s clampdown on certain native doctors, linking their activities to the growing involvement of Nigerian youths in international drug trafficking.

The governor made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television, where he explained that many young people are being misled by false promises of supernatural protection while engaging in criminal acts.

Providing insight into the issue, Soludo said: “When you get to prison yards all over the world, you find thousands of our youths languishing in those places because somebody had deceived them and prepared juju for them that once you have it, you can carry drugs inside of you and when you get out there, the scanning machine will go blind.”

He lamented that such deceptive practices have contributed significantly to the number of Nigerians incarcerated abroad, as many fall victim to the belief that ritual charms can shield them from law enforcement detection.

According to the governor, these claims are not only false but dangerous, as they encourage youths to take life-altering risks. He stressed that individuals promoting such ideas are complicit in pushing vulnerable people into crime, often with devastating consequences for their futures and families.

Soludo reiterated that his administration’s actions are not aimed at legitimate traditional religion but at eradicating fraudulent and harmful practices. He noted that security agencies have been mandated to investigate and prosecute those who mislead young people into criminal activities under the guise of spiritual assistance…..See More
