When IPOB Terrorist Murder Christians & Muslims in South-East Obi Encourage it by Saying Nothing-FFK

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has accused former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi of maintaining a resounding silence when ESN and IPOB terrorists murder citizens in the South East, suggesting that the former governor’s lack of public condemnation effectively endorses such violence.

In an open letter posted on his X handle on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, Fani-Kayode questioned Obi’s integrity, alleging that he ignores the killing of Muslims in the North while celebrating and magnifying instances where Christians are targeted to fuel a narrative of religious persecution.

He further claimed that when no killings occur, figures are fabricated to sow seeds of division, describing Obi’s rhetoric as part of a “pitiful attempt” to discredit the government and gain political sympathy.

Fani-Kayode wrote, “It has come to my attention that when ESN & IPOB terrorists murder Christians & Muslims in the South East you encourage it by saying nothing & endorse it with your resounding silence. When Muslims are killed in the North you say nothing because you do not see them as human beings & you could not care less.”

“When Christians are killed in the North you feign outrage & you celebrate & magnify it, citing it as evidence of “Christian persecution” & “Christian genocide” & encouraging the right-wing lunatic fringe and MAGA elements in American politics to latch on to it,” he added.

The tension follows Peter Obi’s recent public alarm over the reported abduction of approximately 172 worshippers from churches in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

Obi had characterized the event as a “devastating tragedy” and an unfortunate consequence of unchecked insecurity, pointedly asking if Nigerians must continue to wake up to mass abductions followed by official denials.

He challenged the government to treat human life as sacred and questioned the effectiveness of security agencies in a state that houses major military establishments.

Despite initial denials from the Kaduna State Government and the State Police Command, who labeled the reports false and misleading fake news peddled by conflict entrepreneurs, the situation took a turn when the Nigeria Police Force eventually backtracked.

On Tuesday night, Force PRO Benjamin Hundeyin admitted that the attack did occur, confirming the mass kidnapping.

Subsequent reports from community leaders and groups like the Christian Association of Nigeria have since identified up to 177 victims, including entire households taken from the ECWA and Cherubim and Seraphim churches.

Fani-Kayode, however, maintained that Obi’s swiftness to go public before conclusively establishing the veracity of reports proves he seeks to harvest the misery of the people for political mileage.

He argued that Obi should have privately consulted Governor Uba Sani rather than spreading what he termed falsehood and garbage.

The former minister went as far as to ask whether Obi is secretly behind such insurgencies, accusing him of hoping for national institutions to fail so that the country can be broken into pieces.

Fani-Kayode insisted that such objectives would never be achieved and that the nation would overcome its challenges through unity and faith.
