When Buhari Visited Trump, Buhari Told Us Trump Asked Him Why He Is Killing Christians -Udenta

Professor Udenta Udenta, Founding National Secretary for the Alliance for Democracy, revealed details of a significant exchange between former Presidents Trump and Buhari during a Symfoni TV interview.

Udenta recounted the unexpected nature of the confrontation. “Don’t forget that when Buhari went to visit Trump in the White House, he pointedly asked him, Buhari told us, Trump didn’t disclose it: ‘Why are you killing Christians in your country?'” he stated.

The professor described Buhari’s reaction to the question. “And he said he was turned and taken aback. He didn’t prepare for that,” Udenta explained.

He outlined what Buhari had anticipated discussing instead. “Maybe conversation about economy, investment, etc., loan, grants. When Nigeria pushed for inclusion in the permanent members of the Security Council, his mind was shed around those critical strategic areas,” Udenta said.

The sudden shift in topic caught the Nigerian leader off guard. “And he said, ‘Why are you killing Christians in your country?’ It took him time to recover,” the professor noted.

Udenta then shared Buhari’s response to Trump’s question. “And he said, ‘We’re not killing Christians. We have issues that are complex: climate change, borders, all manner of things, and so on. And again, Muslims too are being killed with Christians,'” he recounted.

The professor assessed Buhari’s handling of the confrontation. “He was able to answer as much as he could, and maybe Trump saw the sincerity in his voice or whatever, or maybe wasn’t impressed,” Udenta stated.

He suggested this exchange may have influenced subsequent U.S. policy. “That’s what must have led to the designation in the first instance,” Udenta concluded.
