In a recent video on Facebook, Prophet Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned of looming political tension in Kano, cautioning that not all sitting governors may return to office in the next political cycle.
Speaking during a recent address, Ayodele said, “And of course in Kano, not all the sitting governors will come back home.” Though he did not mention specific names, his statement points to possible upsets and intense political battles ahead.
The cleric also raised concerns about pressure on the electoral body. “They will say put more pressure on INEC, and INEC chairman will be misfired,” he stated, suggesting that the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission could come under scrutiny amid political disagreements.
Ayodele urged caution, warning that the atmosphere is already charged. “So he must be careful because people are watching. People are determined. People are ready for troubles,” he said.
According to him, political actors should take preventive steps rather than wait for crises to escalate. “Why not look at the troubles ahead and find solution before it’s too late?” he asked.
He further advised traditional rulers and influential stakeholders to remain united and prayerful to avoid internal conflicts. “Let their worry kings pray very well so that they will not begin to fight themselves,” Ayodele added.
