The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has reacted to comments attributed to U.S. President Donald Trump regarding security concerns and claims of instability in Nigeria, advising Trump to exercise caution and seek genuine understanding before making public statements on the country’s affairs.
Speaking during a prophetic session with journalists and church members in Lagos, Primate Ayodele emphasized that no foreign leader understands Nigeria better than Nigerians themselves; According to him, foreign powers often misinterpret the socio-political dynamics of the nation, leading to actions and declarations that may later be regretted.
“They cannot know Nigeria more than us,” the cleric declared; “There are things somebody does and later regrets; That is why I am appealing to President Donald Trump, he must be careful with his words and actions concerning Nigeria; Instead of creating tension, he should seek clarity and use diplomacy.”
Primate Ayodele urged Trump to take a responsible stance when commenting on Africa, reminding him that security issues are delicate and require constructive engagement rather than alarmist language.
He cautioned political leaders and global stakeholders against fueling panic, warning that provocative comments can worsen national and international perceptions, and even encourage unrest.
Nigeria has challenges, but God is in control,” Ayodele stated; Trump should not create fear or confusion; If he has any concerns about security, he should speak with wisdom, not accusation; Whatever decision he wants to take, he must think deeply, because one wrong statement can cause future regret.
Primate Ayodele further advised the Nigerian government to remain vigilant and strengthen intelligence cooperation, but urged officials to avoid panic or reactionary measures triggered by foreign commentary.
He concluded by calling for unity, prayer, and strategic planning to safeguard the nation’s stability.
Nigeria will overcome its security fears, but our leaders must be proactive; And for Trump, wisdom, patience, and respect are needed. Diplomacy is always better than alarm.
