Trafficking: When I Removed My Clothes & Libyan Warders Saw Cross Tattoo On Me They Slapped Me -Oyiza

Yakubu Hope Oyiza, a victim of human trafficking, has stated that she was trafficked to Libya and was later arrested and kept in detention.

In an interview with Biola Adebayo Ent, Oyiza stated that one day the prison warders announced they wanted to search her and other prisoners.

Oyiza disclosed that she has a tattoo of a cross and rosary on her stomach, and because Libya is an Islamic country, she had changed her name to Rukaya and lied that she was a Muslim.

Oyiza stated that the warders ordered her and other prisoners to strip and when she removed her clothes, they saw the tattoo of a cross and rosary on her stomach. She said they slapped her immediately and beat her up

In Oyiza’s words: “They said they want to search us, that we should strip. And unfortunately for me I have a tattoo of cross and rosary on my stomach. It is an Islamic country, I changed my name to Rukaya, even when I was registering I registered as Rukaya and I told them I am a Muslim. So when I removed my clothes and they saw tattoo of cross and rosary on my stomach they slapped me.”……See More
