Minister of Works Senator David Umahi has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu questioned the lack of road infrastructure development under previous administrations given the scale of projects currently underway.
Speaking in a media coverage by Symfoni TV, Umahi recounted the president’s recent inquiry about historical infrastructure neglect. “The President asked me a question about a week ago. He said, ‘All these roads that we are doing now, what has happened in the past?’ And that is the question Nigerians should be asking: why is it that everything became a priority in terms of our road construction now?” he said.
The minister attributed the current construction surge to President Tinubu’s commitment to Nigerian citizens.
Umahi cited the East-West Road as an example, noting that three sections connecting to Benin are now under simultaneous construction under the current administration. He assured the public that all three segments are progressing satisfactorily.
