The Managing Director Transferred A Huge Sum Of Money To Sylva -Military Source

Military investigators looking into a supposed plan to overthrow President Bola Tinubu are reportedly questioning a Managing Director of a Federal Government agency located in the South South region, according to The PUNCH.

The PUNCH reported that two intelligence officers have confirmed the arrest of the Managing Director, who is said to have transferred a large amount of money to Timipre Sylva, a former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources. Sylva is believed to be one of the financial backers of the alleged plot to forcibly change the government.

Investigators suspect that the money was intended to support the coup. “The Managing Director (name withheld) transferred a large sum of money to Sylva. Investigators are working on the idea that this money transfer was linked to the coup. He is currently answering questions about what the money was for.”

On Saturday, investigators reportedly raided Sylva’s house in Abuja. During the operation, they arrested his younger brother, Paga, who works as his Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs, and also took his driver.

While this was happening, the former governor of Bayelsa state was out of the country. Sources familiar with the situation explained that he was planning to return when he learned that the leaders of the coup had been arrested. As a result, he decided not to come back home.

“Sylva’s house in Abuja was raided on Saturday, but he was not there. His younger brother, Paga, who is his Special Assistant, and the driver were taken into custody. Investigators think that Sylva may have funded the coup plot. He was abroad and was getting ready to return to Nigeria when he found out about the arrest of the coup leaders, so he chose to stay where he was.”
