The first lady asked for library donations to her account, these bankers have donated N20.7B – Bode George

In an interview on Arise TV, chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, voiced his concerns about a recent fundraising initiative by Nigeria’s First Lady.

Chief George revealed that “something happened recently where the first lady, Remi, decided that she wanted to build a national library, and she said people should donate so much directly to her account.”

Addressing the First Lady directly, he stated: “I beg you, Remi, our first lady, my dear aburo, this is not on. As a first lady, yes, but to build a national library—in two days, those people that I keep complaining about, these bankers, have donated 20.7 billion naira, and they mention their names.”

The PDP chieftain argued that the substantial funds raised could be better utilized elsewhere. “That money would have gone into a special fund, which I’ve been campaigning about, to meet the needs—skill acquisition programs for millions of this young generation,” he explained.

Chief George highlighted the unemployment crisis facing the nation’s youth: “In fact, many of those graduates now who have graduated from universities have no hope. There’s no job.”

He proposed an alternative use for such resources: “Establish microcredit through this special fund instead of saying you want to build a national library.”

Concluding his statement, Chief George directed his appeal to the presidency: “Tell your husband, let them set up this special fund.Continue, Full, Reading>>>>
