In a recent video shared on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, directed a stern warning to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over his approach to governance and wealth management. The cleric urged the governor to be wise in handling resources, stressing that accumulating wealth for personal pride rather than public good could end his political career.
Ayodele said that politicians who fail to use their wealth and influence for the benefit of their people would ultimately face disgrace. “The billions you have now, use them to help people, and you will become an ex-governor forever,” he stated, emphasizing that generosity and service are critical measures of leadership success. He added that investing in the welfare of citizens would secure not only spiritual favor but also lasting political relevance.
According to Ayodele, ignoring this guidance could lead to political isolation and rejection by the electorate. He explained that leaders who hoard wealth or misuse public funds risk losing the support of the people, which would render all their efforts and resources futile. “If you don’t help your people, all your achievements will be meaningless,” he warned.
The prophet also highlighted that wisdom, divine guidance, and ethical governance are more crucial than personal ambition. Leaders who seek spiritual insight and act responsibly are better positioned to manage crises, promote development, and maintain public trust. Ayodele concluded by urging Makinde and other leaders to prioritize service over self-interest, reminding them that true legacy lies in uplifting others.
