A female teacher has shared another chilling part of her story of how a Fulani man attacked her in Pegi, Kuje Area Council of Abuja, leaving her with a severed hand. She narrated the ordeal during an interview on Brekete Family, recalling the moments after she managed to escape from her attacker.
The incident happened in 2018 after she returned from a private home lesson. According to her, the man had trailed her from Pegi Market, confronted her along a narrow footpath, and launched the attack with a cutlass. She fought desperately to defend herself but sustained severe injuries that cost her one of her hands.
After the struggle, she said her handbag fell to the ground. The man bent down to pick it, giving her the opportunity to run. She managed to escape from the footpath to the main road where she finally realized the full extent of her injury.
“So when the handbag that was hanging fell, he now bent to carry. That was when I got the opportunity, held my hand. I now ran out of the foot path. I went and sat on the road. So when I now sat on the road, you know, the hand was doing somewhere. So I said, ‘Let me carry it up.’ When I now carried the hand up, the hand was light because the fingers were not there again. So that was when I discovered that this one was off. So I quickly, my phone was not inside the bag. It was inside my pocket, my jeans pocket. Quickly removed the phone in as much as blood was trying to cover the screen and I called the people that went for home lesson in their house.” See, More, Here>>>>
