Southeast: Their son is coming 2027 and the same governors are telling him to stay away–Udenta

Professor Udenta O. Udenta, a founding National Secretary of the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD), has lambasted Southeast governors for their lack of support for Peter Obi’s presidential aspirations, both in 2023 and ahead of 2027.

Speaking on Arise TV, Professor Udenta was responding to questions about the Southeast governors’ apparent reluctance to back Peter Obi’s political ambitions.

The political scholar explained the traditional path to securing Nigeria’s presidency and questioned why regional leaders failed to rally behind one of their own.

“The presidency is for you to contest with other groups and say, ‘How do you cut your dues? How do you reach compromising to get it?’ We’ve not gotten it but their son was close by in 2023,” Udenta stated.

He pointedly asked whether the governors provided any meaningful support during Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign.

“Did any of these governors back him? Did they say this man is not pulling all the weight across the country, let us support him?” the professor questioned.

Udenta also expressed concern about the continued opposition Obi faces from regional leaders as he eyes the 2027 election.

“He’s coming 2027, and the same governors and ministers are telling him, ‘Stay away. The job is settled for another,'” he revealed.

The comments highlight ongoing tensions between Peter Obi and political leaders from his home region, raising questions about unity and strategic political positioning within the Southeast ahead of the next general elections.Continue, Full, Reading>>>>
