Sometimes After Intimacy With My Husband, I’ll Go To The Bathroom And Cry -Biodun Stephen

A Nollywood filmmaker, Biodun Stephen, during an interview with The News Central TV correspondents, shared her experience about the female genital mutilation (FGM).

According to her, she said that at just six years old, she underwent female genital mutilation, which was a painful practice that is still prevalent in some parts of Nigeria and around the world. She alleged that decades later, the memory still remains vivid, impacting her relationships, sexuality, sense of womanhood, and personal identity.

She also said that sometimes after intimacy with her husband, she would go into the bathroom and cry because she did not enjoy it like he did.

She said, “You know how people say that I understand my body and knows what really works for them? I am not really sure I have fully learned about my body. I remember that I had a friend who talked about libido. And I was like you are like what? What are you talking about?

“And then she said, you know you hit your 40s and I was looking forward to being 40, waiting for this moment. And then I clocked 41, 42, 43, I’m looking at 50 like this and then I began to explore.

“And again, being married, you know he had his own — and the likes but sometimes, I will always go to the bathroom and cry, and I will tell my husband I want to feel exactly how you’re feeling. I want to experience this.

“You know, I’ll be looking at him like; why, why, why am I not feeling like this? And then again, with FGM, the consequences vary. Some people will have libido, but don’t just have orgasm. Some people have zero libido and zero orgasm. I have realized that my brain wants sex but body is not responding.”…..See More
