So Self-Defense Is Now Murder?’ — Farotimi Laments After Supreme Court Verdict on Farmer’s Case

Dele Farotimi, a Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, has given his take on the alleged genocide against Christians in Nigeria.

In recent times, the president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has threatened a military action in Nigeria over the alleged persecutions of Christians across the country.

However, during an interview with Channels Television, the legal practitioner and human rights activist, Dele Farotimi, acknowledged that there is a genocide against Christians in the northern regions of Nigeria.

Backing up his claims, Dele Farotimi recalled several instances, which include Deborah Samuel, a Christian student in Sokoto State lynched by a Muslim mob over alleged blasphemy.

Furthermore, he also recalled how Sunday Jackson, a farmer from Adamawa State, was attacked in his farm, and while defending himself, the attacker passed on, but the Supreme Court deemed his actions as murder.

According to the video, “A man was attacked on his own farm; he struggled and managed to free himself. The attacker pursued him; he killed the attacker with his own knife. Our supreme court deemed that a murder.
