Shehu Sani Reacts To Report Claiming Jamb No Longer Compulsory For University Admissions In Nigeria

One of the chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to report claiming that JAMB will no longer be mandatory for university admissions in Nigeria.

The reaction of the former Kaduna lawmaker was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

The report claimed that the new directive will empower universities, polytechnic and colleges of education to have the freedom to determine which candidates to admit based on their Senior School Certificate Examination, SSCE, results or its equivalent.

However, Senator Shehu Sani has now shared his thoughts after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he said if JAMB is no longer mandatory for admissions into higher institutions, the institutions will be admitting many students in order to increase their revenues

“If JAMB is no longer compulsory for admission into universities then the agency is dead.
