In a video shared by Channels Television, Nyesom Wike has addressed recent discussions surrounding comments he made about Seun Okinbaloye, providing clarification on the context of his remarks.
Wike explained that his earlier statement, which drew public attention, was not intended to be taken literally. He noted that his comments were made in a moment of frustration and were meant to express his dissatisfaction rather than convey any harmful intent.
According to him, “You can imagine what happened at our press conference, and people just capitalise on things. Even when I explained there that, look, it’s not correct, I didn’t say I would kill him. All I was trying to explain is that, figuratively, I was so angry. How can you descend so low?”
The FCT minister emphasized that his use of language was figurative, adding that his intention was to highlight his reaction to the situation at the time. He reiterated that he had already clarified the matter during the press conference, but noted that some interpretations continued to circulate.
