Senate: He Told His Aide To Call On The President To Stop The Five Mini LNG Projects In My LG -Natasha

Senator Natasha Akpoti, who represents Kogi Central, has explained how she financed most of the projects executed in her senatorial district.

Speaking during an interview (between 39:20-39:56) on Mic On Podcast with Seun Okinbaloye, she was asked how she sourced funds for the numerous projects attributed to her. In response, she explained that the bulk of the funding came from the Senate and the Federal Government, adding that only a small portion was raised through crowdfunding by her husband’s friends during her birthday celebration in 2024.

She further clarified that the six houses she built for her aides were funded entirely from her personal resources. However, she said all other interventions—including roads, schools, water schemes, markets and a police station—were executed through constituency project allocations.

The senator also disclosed that many of the projects she proposed were later removed. According to her, about 80 per cent of the projects she successfully lobbied into the 2025 budget were taken out, while others were deliberately stalled.

She alleged that a particular individual was responsible for removing and suppressing them, noting that the person allegedly went as far as identifying her constituency projects across local governments and ensuring they were struck out. She added that only projects she discreetly coded managed to survive the process.

Further talking and refusing to mention the name of the senator she was accusing, she said, “It is being unfortunate that someone would extend his vendetta to the people, because he has issues with me. Do you know that he actually commissioned one of his aides, to call on the president to stop the five mini LNG projects in one of my local governments after the groundbreaking ceremony, but I thank God the president didn’t listen. So these projects are on the way.”
