Saraki Is Not Neutral; He Is Fully With Wike Faction -PDP Chieftain Reveals, Says He’s Wike’s Agent

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Sani, has responded to comments made by former Senate President Bukola Saraki regarding the ongoing dispute within the party, stating that the matter should ultimately be determined by the Supreme Court.

Sani made the remarks during an interview on Trust TV on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, while addressing questions about internal disagreements within the party and the possible legal steps ahead. During the interview, the host referenced comments attributed to Saraki, who reportedly advised opposing factions within the PDP to set aside their differences and pursue reconciliation.

The interviewer said, “Now, an elder in the party, Senator Bukola Saraki, the former senate president, he said both sides should bury their guns. Should shelve this thing. And converge, talk, plan, have another convention, so that at the end of the day you will have participants in the forthcoming election. Don’t you think that should be a wise counsel from a member of your party?”

Responding to the question, Sani said he holds Saraki in high regard but disagrees with his position on the matter. “Well, I have tremendous respect for Senator Bukola Saraki. And I have tried to avoid, you know, joining issues with him. But on this matter, I must tell you that he is not neutral. So his advice is definitely not necessary and misplaced,” he said.

Sani further alleged that Saraki was aligned with a faction associated with Nyesom Wike. “Because he is fully, fully with the Wike faction,” Sani stated.

When the interviewer asked him to clarify his claim, Sani responded by referencing rumors he said had circulated publicly. “Yes, he is even rumored to be, with due respect, it is rumored. That he is rumored to be an agent, for Wike selling lands in Abuja,” he said, referring to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The interviewer cautioned against pursuing that allegation further, saying, “That’s a serious allegation and I don’t want us to go deep into that.” Sani replied, “No, no, no. I’m not the one saying it. This is something which is within the rumor mill. And I’m sure he must also have had it.”

The discussion then returned to the legal process surrounding the dispute. The interviewer suggested that pursuing the matter to the Supreme Court could consume valuable time ahead of upcoming elections. “But what he said is, instead of going to the Supreme Court, which will cost you a lot of time, even if you have the resources,” the interviewer said.

In response, Sani defended the decision to continue the legal process. “If we have started from the Federal High Court, what stops us from going to the Supreme Court?” he asked, referring to the Federal High Court.

The interviewer then asked about the limited time available before the elections and whether the Supreme Court could hear the case in time. “But how sure or how optimistic are you that the Supreme Court will adjudicate? Looking at the limited time. You have less than four months,” the interviewer said.

Sani responded by emphasizing the importance of the court’s role. “Well, it doesn’t matter. What is important is that the Supreme Court needs to take this matter into cognizance. Because it is the Supreme Court that laid out the basic rule. All other courts are merely quoting the Supreme Court as an authority in this matter,” he said.
