A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Sani, has criticized former Senate President Bukola Saraki for his involvement in conversations aimed at resolving the party’s ongoing internal crisis, arguing that Saraki cannot be viewed as a neutral figure in the dispute.
Sani made the comment during an interview on Trust TV while discussing the persistent divisions within the opposition party. Speaking on the issue, Sani said, “On this matter, I must tell you that he’s not neutral so his advise is definitely not necessary and misplaced because he is fully with Wike’s faction.”
The PDP chieftain added that genuine reconciliation within the party requires the participation of individuals who are truly impartial and focused on restoring unity rather than advancing factional interests. He warned that if influential party members continue to be viewed as biased, efforts to resolve the crisis could become even more complicated.
