Pipeline Contract: Olu Of Warri Is Getting More Money Than Tompolo — Asari Dokubo Breaks Silence

His Royal Highness, Mujahid Asari Dokubo, the Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri (Elem Kalabari) in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, has spoken on issues relating to pipeline contracts, regional considerations, and his position as an Ijaw leader.

Dokubo made the remarks during a live video broadcast shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, March 27, 2026, where he addressed concerns surrounding distribution of benefits and internal dynamics among stakeholders. Speaking on his perspective, he said, “As an Ijaw man, I had to look at the thing I recall myself.”

He explained that his position was influenced by considerations about how his actions might be perceived within his ethnic group. According to him, “Let it not be tomorrow that people will say he was the one who fought against the Ijaw people and they took it from him.”

Dokubo referenced other traditional authorities and their involvement, stating, “There was Olu of Warri, he did not fight him.”

He added that internal disagreements within the Ijaw community could create unintended consequences. He said, “He is the one who is now fighting his fellow Ijaw man and he collected it from him. From his fellow Ijaw man, what is the benefit that he is going to have?”

He further noted that broader structural changes could affect distribution of benefits, stating, “There is no way I am not going to have benefit if they decentralize it.” Dokubo also spoke on figures associated with the contracts, saying, “Olu of Warri is getting more money than Tompolo.”

He provided specific figures, adding, “Olu of Warri is getting N2.7 trillion. Tompolo is getting N2.1 trillion. N800 billion different.” He concluded by reflecting on the potential impact of such resources, stating, “If I have N800 billion, come and see what I would do…..See More
