PDP: There Are Two Igbo Governors That I Cried Over Because I Love What They Were Doing-Sowunmi

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Sowunmi, has commended the performances of two governors of Igbo extraction, expressing particular admiration for Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah’s use of technology in governance.

During an interview with Nigeria Info FM, Sowunmi shared his observations about governors whose work has impressed him significantly.

“There are two governors of Igbo extraction that I have cried over because I love what they were doing,” Sowunmi revealed.

He recalled his disappointment when former Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi defected from the PDP to the APC.

“When David Umahi was in Ebonyi, and I saw the way he was doing Ebonyi, I was very happy. When we lost him, I was nearly sad,” he said.

However, Sowunmi reserved special praise for Governor Mbah, whom he described as possibly the best governor in the country. The PDP chieftain disclosed that he has visited Enugu State multiple times at his own expense to observe the governor’s initiatives.

“Another person that I had considered to be the best governor, if not in the whole of Nigeria, certainly was Mbah. I’ve gone to Enugu two, three times on my own dime,” Sowunmi stated.

He highlighted the governor’s implementation of advanced satellite monitoring technology for urban development and land use.

“He has a setup where he sits in the office. They can look at the whole of Enugu via satellite, delivered to a portal. If somebody’s buying ground not on the road, they will see it. That is serious work,” he explained.

Sowunmi also praised Mbah’s tax reform initiatives, noting improvements in revenue collection methods.

“He has done his taxation system; he has removed all this hassle of just standing on the road and disturbing people,” he said.

Concluding his assessment, the PDP chieftain expressed admiration for the governor’s overall approach to development.

“I had seen the way he was doing things with his transformational agenda, and I’ve seen how he had been focused,” Sowunmi affirmed. See, More, Here>>>>
