PDP belongs to the people, not Wike, Atiku, or Saraki, they have capacity to recover – Seyi Clement

During an interview on Silver Bird TV, PDP Chieftain and political analyst Seyi Clement addressed concerns surrounding the ongoing crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emphasizing the question of ownership and control within the party.

He stated that the PDP’s foundation remains rooted in the collective will of its members and supporters, rather than in the influence of a few high-profile political figures.

“The PDP belongs to the people, not to individuals like Wike, Atiku, or Saraki, and that is why despite the crisis, the party still has the capacity to recover,” Clement said, highlighting his belief in the party’s resilience.

His remarks come amid persistent tensions involving prominent figures such as Nyesom Wike, Atiku Abubakar, and Bukola Saraki, whose roles have continued to shape internal dynamics.

Clement suggested that while these individuals remain influential, they do not define the entirety of the party’s identity or future direction.

He noted that the strength of the PDP lies in its nationwide structure and grassroots support base, which he believes still provides a pathway to recovery.

According to him, the current crisis should not be interpreted as a total collapse, but rather as a phase that can be overcome through internal reforms and unity.

He also pointed out that political parties often experience cycles of conflict, adding that survival depends on their ability to reconnect with their core supporters.
