Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has revealed that Senator Sandy Onor initially asked him not to make any financial contribution during the unveiling of a book presented at Onor’s birthday celebration.
Speaking at the event, Wike said Onor, whom he described as a close friend and strong supporter, had requested that he simply unveil the book without making a donation. However, Wike stated that he felt it would be inappropriate to attend such an occasion empty-handed, given their relationship.
In a video shared by Viable TV, Wike is heard saying that he could not agree to unveil the book without offering support. He added that even the presence of officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) would not deter him from making a donation.
Wike emphasized that his gesture was rooted in appreciation for Onor’s loyalty and support over the years. The relevant portion of the video can be viewed between minutes 13:47 and 14:16….See More
