Olayinka Reacts As Justice James Omotosho Sentences Lecturer To 5yr Jail Term For Sexual Harassment

Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike recently reacted after Justice James Omotosho of the federal high court, Abuja sentenced a University lecturer to five years imprisonment for sexual harassment. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the punishment was without an option of a fine.

Cyril Ndifon, a senior lecturer at the University of Calabar was recently on the spotlight after he was found guilty of sexually abusing a female student by Justice James Omotosho of the federal high court, Abuja.

The judgement, which was pronounced by the legal icon, sparked massive attention across various social media platforms, including from Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to FCT minister, Nyesom Wike.

According to the statements which were published on his official X handle on Tuesday November 18th 2025, after narrating how Mr Cyril Ndifon was convicted, disclosed that the punishment was without a fine.

He further pointed out that while pronouncing his Judgement, Justice James Omotosho berated the senior lecturer, making it known to him that his actions were gross misconduct, hence, the punishment will serve as a deterrent to others.

The recent Judgement by Justice James Omotosho on the sexual harassment case had caught the attention of the general public, as many awaits his judgment on Nnamdi Kanu’s case on November 20th.

However, while many believed all evidence available were still debatable, the judgment will make its way to the history books.
