Obi’s remarks on supposed Christian killings draw reaction from Bayo Onanuga -

The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga has reacted to the statement that was made by the former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP, candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Gregory Obi on the alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria.

The reaction of Bayo Onanuga was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

His statement is coming after the former governor of Anambra state blamed the All Progressive Congress, APC for the insecurity in the country.

Here is what Peter Obi said;

“While the insecurity did not start with the present government, what is most unfortunate is the lack and absence of competence, commitment, prudent use of resources, patriotism and passion on the part of the APC led government and leaders to effectively govern, galvanise and lead Nigeria”.

However, in the post that Bayo Onanuga shared on his official X handle, he criticized Peter Obi over the comment that he made. He said Peter Obi should stop politicizing everything.

“But Peter Obi appears content only when Nigeria is under pressure, believing every challenge for the nation is an opportunity for his political resurrection. That is not patriotism. It is sour politics born from electoral heartbreak”.
