Obasanjo Discovered Odili Stopped His 3rd- Term So He Truncated His Presidential Ambition – Dan Ulasi

Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dan Ulasi, has revealed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo ended Peter Odili’s presidential ambition after discovering that Odili played a key role in thwarting his third-term bid.

Ulasi made this disclosure during an interview with Symfoni TV while discussing Obasanjo’s controversial attempt to extend his tenure beyond two terms.

He responded to Obasanjo’s recent denial of ever seeking a third term and that there’s no evidence. Ulasi said that many political figures were aware of the agenda at the time.

He explained that Obasanjo felt betrayed when he later found out that Odili, the former governor of Rivers State, had mobilized members of the National Assembly to reject the third-term bid embedded in a constitutional amendment bill.

Ulasi also recalled being summoned to the Villa and later meeting with then-Senate President Ken Nnamani, who confirmed the existence of the third-term bill. He said he later went to the villa to confront Obasanjo and told him that he shouldn’t extend his tenure.

As he said, “Those who have evidence will not come out to say it, but I can come out to say it. He hears what Dan Ulasi said. He won’t challenge it because he knew what I told him, that you cannot go ahead with this.”

“That was why he stopped Peter Odili because Peter Odili was accused of using members of the National Assembly to truncate third-term. That was the period of ‘my people told me not to vote for third-term’ because it was in the bill that was being discussed.”
